There's always now... P.S. I'm moving...
Tom Petty said, "the waiting is the hardest part." So, why wait?
We all have a vision of the things we want in life but for whatever reason things get pushed back, put on hold or just simply not done because of excuses we make. It's not that we do not accomplish these items, it's mostly because we get distracted by daily life and don't have the greater vision in the forefront of our minds.
To help keep your eye on the prize, I suggest putting together a life list. Break it down into four categories:
- Things you want to have
- Things you want to do
- Things you want to be (I said "learn" in the video)
- Things you want to give
Keep this list where you can regularly see and start to check things off the list. There will be items on here that may make taking action more challenging. For example, something might require a physical relocation, change in job or even a change in a relationship. These are the hard choices though that can significantly improve your life and get you closer to your greater goal.
I bring this topic up because I'm going through a significant change myself which was not an easy decision to make. My wife and I are relocating from New Jersey (just outside NYC) to Charleston, South Carolina in just a few weeks. To make this decision we had to look at a lot of things including our jobs and income. In the end, looking at the worst case scenario wasn't so bad and this move could potentially help us achieve our 5, 10, even 15-year goals faster.
Don't worry, the videos, the blog, etc. are not going away. In fact, I'm hoping to dedicate more energy to my mission of helping people build a better business and live a better life. There will be a lag in content as I make this transition but more projects are in the works which I will announce in the new year. Ultimately, this move is an example of me following my own advice and I hope you all follow me on this journey.
Big change is never easy but I challenge you to look at the life you want to live and map your decisions to match the path that gets you to that life. What is the worst that can happen? If you make the wrong decision you can just make another decision that puts you back on course. We have one life to live so let's live it to our full potential.
I really do need to thank all of you for following along with my content over the past couple of years. The feedback and comments you share with me are my motivation to continue doing this. I cannot wait to share more with you in 2018.
I also want to say a special thank you to John Turpin, everyone at Turpin Real Estate and to the associates in Chatham, NJ that I have had the joy to work with. It's been a pleasure to grow my real estate career with great company filled with tremendous people. I am excited to watch the company continue to build on its nearly 60 year history of fantastic service.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to everyone! See y'all down in South Carolina.
