We combed through over 6,700 listings to verify the best day of the week to list property...

Back on May 4th I sent out a newsletter and posted to my Facebook page a video explaining why Wednesday is the best day of the week to list property (click here to the view the video, repurposed as a post on the blog here). At that time we were only looking at Data in Chatham, New Jersey.

At the end of the month, Realtor.com released a video also claiming that Wednesday is the best day of the week to list property (view their video by following this link). Their explanation was not data driven but did make sense. This got us thinking, is it a coincidence that two Realtors from California and a Realtor from New Jersey just happen to agree on this topic? So we expanded the search, looked at two and a half years worth of data to verify the conclusion.

After going through the over 6,700 listings, our original results were confirmed. Wednesday takes the crown as the most popular and best day to list property!

We didn't stop at the best day of the week though, we also took a look at the best month of the year to list. Check out the charts below that show the results from all the data. We also looked at best week of the year to list but that chart gets pretty large so we didn't post it here. However, if you are interested, shoot me a note and I will be happy to share with you the data and results.
