The Reconnection Challenge

A lot can be learned and gained from a little challenge. Last week I finished up my personal challenge of 100 burpees per day for 100 days. It was hard but in addition to any physical benefit it opened my mind and helped me learn a little bit more about myself, habits and overcoming obstacles.

For those of you who work with me, you know that one of the foundational actions to growing a solid relationship based business is to engage in at least 50 live conversations every week. Even though these conversations are not to be about business unless the other person brings it up (client calls are the exception of course as long as you have a personal conversation as well), it can be difficult to reach out to people.

So to overcome your fear, I have a challenge for you. Over the next week, go through your database and get it organized. Then pick out 61 people who you haven't spoken to in a while; past clients, old friends, just pick out some people you don't speak to on a regular basis. Starting on November 1st, call one person from your list each day through the end of the year.

Not sure what to talk about? Use Facebook to help you discover what might be relevant in the other person's life or just simply ask how things are going. You can even say that you're going through your database and calling some people you haven't spoken to in a while. Business opportunities my come about through these calls but DO NOT make these calls with the intent to get clients. These calls are about the person on the other end, reconnecting and learning about what is new in his or her life.

One week to get things organized. Let's go!
